Formally known as Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, they were founded in California, 1982. The founder, current president and CEO is T.J. Rodgers. They have a total of 14 design centers and 40 sales offices with 34,950 employees. In 2011 there total revenue was $973 million dollars. They specialize in memory and imaging, data communications and consumer and computations. They focus primarily on CMOS SRAMs, EEPROMs, PAL devices, and TTL logic devices. However, they have incorporated some of their technology into subsidiaries in order to speed up the development of those products. Cypress has stock that is currently traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under CY.
